 "Little Log" Explore beautiful Lake Lure in your own canoe while staying in one of these two charmingly rustic, lakefront log cabins. Located on the grounds of the old inn at Pine Gables are two simple and rustic log cabins built along the banks of Lake Lure. These historic cabins offer unique lodging for the adventuresome traveler, as did the old inn when it was a stagecoach stop in the 1800’s.
The smaller cabin, appropriately called “Little Log,” has one bedroom and one bath. With a sofa sleeper in the living area, it can sleep 4 people comfortably. It has an open porch with views of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains.
The larger cabin, “New Log,” has two bedrooms and one bath and, with a sofa sleeper, can sleep 6. The screen porch is furnished for dining and relaxing and also overlooks Lake Lure and the mountains.

There are picnic tables and an outdoor charcoal grill on the grounds for guests to enjoy and ample room for children to play. It is but a short walk from each cabin down to the pristine waters of Lake Lure where you can swim and fish off the shared dock or explore the waters of Lake Lure in your own canoe with the beauty of these majestic mountains rising all around you. Note: A North Carolina fishing license is needed when fishing off the dock on Lake Lure. There is also a small pond for fishing without a license.
Lake Lure Cabin Rental Amenities • Each cabin is lakefront with mountain and lake views and comes with a canoe and life vests. It is North Carolina law that everyone in a canoe must have a life vest in the canoe and that children uner 13 must be wearing a life vest at all times. Substantial fines are charged for noncompliance. • Little Log has one bedroom, a sofa sleeper and one bath. Sleeps 4. • New Log has two bedrooms, a sofa sleeper and one bath. Sleeps 6. • Fully furnished kitchens, except no dishwashers. • Cable TV with DVD player in living area of each cabin. • Window unit air conditioning in each cabin. • Linens and towels, iron and ironing board provided. • Sorry, but there are no laundry facilities at these cabins. • Picnic tables and outdoor charcoal grill. Each cabin is simply but fully furnished with most everything needed for a romantic couples getaway or a family vacation. They can be rented separately since they are far enough apart to ensure privacy, but are within walking distance of each other making them also perfect for a family.
