Built in 2005 on a ridge overlooking the pristine waters of Lake Lure, this inviting 1,972 sq. ft. log cabin is the perfect setting for a mountain retreat. While it has no direct access to the water, it has spectacular, long range lake and mountain views. Located less than ten minutes from Lake Lure Marina and Beach and Chimney Rock State Park and only a short drive to the apple country of Hendersonville and the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, this cabin will quickly become your favorite place to come home to. Spacious enough for friends and families vacationing together, yet cozy enough for a couple desiring a romantic getaway, Laurel Ridge Retreat is close to swimming, fishing, shopping, hiking and sight-seeing in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.
If you’ve never stayed in a log cabin, you’re in for a treat when you choose Laurel Ridge Retreat. With 3 levels of warm, wood-paneled rooms, guests will delight in the hand-carved log furniture and charming accessories that ensure the quaint, rustic atmosphere of a mountain setting. Abundant natural light washes in from the many windows and French doors which provide guests every opportunity to enjoy the spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We can’t decide which vista we like best . . . from the kitchen/dining area looking out the French doors? From the intimate deck outside the loft bedroom? From the patio just outside the game room? Laurel Ridge Retreat offers dramatic views from every floor.
Easy access from the parking area allows guests of all ages to enjoy this cabin. Wide, gentle stone steps lead down to the wrap-around covered porch and entryway. Enter on the main floor to the attractive, open kitchen and dining area with vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. Also on the main level is the family gathering room, the perfect spot for relaxing, reading, or reminiscing with family and friends. On chilly nights, the natural stone, wood-burning fireplace will cozy up the room even more. A bedroom with twin beds and full bath with tub/shower combination complete the main floor.

Stairs lead from the main floor to an open loft bedroom with French doors opening to a small, intimate balcony. Enjoy an early morning cup of coffee and watch the sun move across Lake Lure, or sleep late in the queen sized, hand-carved log bed. If you can tear yourself away from the magnificent views, a convenient office nook with a desk offers wireless internet for those who must bring their laptop to touch base with the office or check their email.
In the downstairs game room, teenagers and grown-ups alike can enjoy a game of darts, checkers, a board game, or a movie. Down the hall from the game room is a king bedroom which offers lots of privacy. Sliding glass doors lead out of the bedroom to a patio with more gorgeous views. Also on the lower level is a full bath convenient to both the game room and the king bedroom and a laundry room.

Firewood is not provided, but small bundles can be purchased locally. • Also on the main floor is an open kitchen/dining area with vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge with ice maker, disposal, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and all cooking and dining utensils are provided. There is seating for 4 at the dining table and 2 more at the breakfast bar. • Twin bedroom on main floor has lots of children’s toys to keep little ones occupied. A full bath with tub/shower combination completes the main floor. • Game room on lower level has electronic dart game, checkers table, TV/DVD player, books and games. • • Central air and heat with ceiling fans throughout cabin. Telephones. • Laundry room in basement with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. • Outdoor gas grill on main floor deck outside kitchen/dining area. • Wireless internet connection. Laurel Ridge Retreat is about 2-1/2 miles east of Lake Lure Marina and Chimney Rock State Park and is located on a quiet, paved road with easy access. There is parking for 2 cars.
