Located about 7 minutes from Chimney Rock State Park and 20 miles from Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, Creekside Cottage in Bat Cave is a most serene and special place.
Charming Creekside Cottage offers what all vacationers have in mind when planning a retreat in the mountains: private setting, convenient location, exceptionally clean and comfortable, and WATER, WATER, WATER! Situated on Hickory Nut Creek, a bold, cascading, mountain stream, Creekside Cottage boasts over 200 feet of the most scenic and private creek frontage in the entire Hickory Nut Gorge. Upon arrival at Creekside Cottage, visitors often remark, “Your pictures don’t do it justice!”
Creekside Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or small gatherings of up to 6 people. This two-bedroom, one-bath cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy family room with Direct TV and DVD player, Franklin stove with gas logs, and to top it off, a steaming hot tub on the back deck overlooking the creek.
While the cottage is charming and comfortable, don’t be surprised if you spend more time outside on the grounds than you do indoors. Guests love to share breakfast on the deck at the intimate creekside table for two and watch the sun dance over the small double waterfalls below. There’s also a larger outdoor dining table for additional seating.

Beyond the deck, an inviting boardwalk beckons you to enjoy nature’s playground of over half an acre of shady woods and creek frontage in a park-like setting. The crystal clear waters of Hickory Nut Creek are perfect for wading, fishing, or just splashing around to cool off after a hot day. The less adventuresome can laze away the day in the hammock, lulled to sleep by the bubbling of the creek, just a stone’s throw away. In the evenings, it’s a cottage tradition to gather around the fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows and sharing a picnic supper down by the creek.
If you can bear to leave this special cottage, hiking, gem mining, and boating and swimming in Lake Lure are only 7 minutes away, and golf and horseback riding are within 30 minutes. Finally, after a full day exploring this beautiful area, fall asleep to the sounds of rushing Hickory Nut Creek which can be heard from every room in the cottage. • Very private back deck overlooking creek with 2-person hot tub. Outdoor gas BBQ grill. • Living area with 32” LCD TV with Direct TV and DVD/CD player. TV/DVD player in master bedroom and small TV in 2nd bedroom. Video library with romantic comedies and films made in the area.
• Fully furnished kitchen, 2 steps down from living area. All cooking and dining utensils and cookware provided. Refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, coffee pot, blender, and toaster. No dishwasher.
